EKITI DECLARES TUESDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY #JUNE 12

Ekiti State has declared next Tuesday a public holiday to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the annulled June 12, 1993 Presidential election won by the late Chief M.K.O Abiola.



A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the

Governor, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, said the holiday is in line with the decision of the Dr Kayode Fayemi led administration to accord the June 12 election its rightful place in the political history of the country.



The statement further said the seed that germinated into the current democratic dispensation in the country was sown and watered by the annulled June 12 presidential election.



It urged the citizens to continue working towards the socio, economic and political advancement of the country in general and Ekiti State in particular.
